Hi, HP Potions Quiz with GQ1, so be good boys and don’t Google.

  1. Which potion is identified by its Mother of pearl sheen and steam rising in characteristic spirals?
  2. Which of these is NOT an ingredient in the Draught of Living Death?
    • WormWood
    • Valerian Root
    • Wormjuice root
    • Sophophorous Bean Juice
  3. Name one side effect of the Draught of Peace, if made incorrectly.
  4. ID the potion by its ingredients: Dried nettles, crushed snake fangs, stewed horned slugs, porcupine quills.
  5. How long does Felix Felicis take to prepare?
  6. Which potion relieves injuries inflicted by thoughts? Hint: Ron Weasley was given this potion after being injured by the brains in the Department of Mysteries.
  7. ID the potion: Smooth, blackcurrant-colored liquid at the halfway stage; it should then turn a light shade of lilac, then clear as water, after you stir the potion counterclockwise seven times.
  8. ID the potion: Colour of molten gold, with large drops leaping like goldfish above the surface.
  9. Which potion was brewed by Draco Malfoy when Professor Slughorn asked them to create “something amusing”? Professor Slughorn graded his work as “passable”.
  10. ID the potion: Ingredients: Lacewing flies, antimony, leeches, fluxweed, sal ammoniac, knotgrass, filings and rasplings of Salpeter. (Not all ingredients mentioned)
  11. This potion is advertised to increase the drinkers mental agility, concentration and wakefulness. Eddie Carmichael attempted to sell this to Harry Potter and Ron Weasley just before their OWLs, claiming it to be solely responsible for his nine “Outstanding” grades the previous year.
  12. ID this potion ingredient: If eaten whole, it can be used as a cure for ague. They are created via magical fires and give off immense heat and cause fires if not located and frozen.
  13. In third year, when Malfoy’s hand is still in a sling after the Buckbeak accident, which chopped ingredient is Ron forced to swap with Draco Malfoy after sabotaging his first batch?
  14. What optional ingredient is often added to the Elixir to Induce Euphoria to counter-act the side effects of excessive singing and nose tweaking?
  15. By following the HBPs instructions, what modification does Harry make to the treatment of Sophophorous beans which helps him make the perfect potion in Slughorn’s first class?

This one’s pretty tough, but a few questions are definitely doable.
